About Us

Founded by Simone Friedman, Speech-Language Pathologist, and Natalie Kalymon, Occupational Therapist.

Our story began over 24 years ago, when Natalie completed her graduate thesis on the World Health Organization's (WHO) Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) model and Simone completed her thesis on the WHO's International Classification of FunctionY'S International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF). Both models highlight the importance of providing functional, meaningful rehabilitation within the cultures and communities where clients live.

Following this model, Natalie and Simone created a training program and manual that give local support people in rural and remote communities the skills to work with and engage individuals who have mental health, cognitive and physical challenges, so they can live meaningful and productive lives.
